B Lounge Responsible Beverage Policy
Responsible Alcoholic Beverage Service Policy
Purpose
Our establishment is committed to the safe and responsible service of alcoholic beverages in compliance with California law, including the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) regulations. The goal is to ensure a safe environment for our guests, employees, and community.
1. Staff Training
-
All employees who serve or sell alcohol, or manage those who do, must complete an ABC-approved Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) training program and maintain a valid RBS certification as required under California law.
-
Training must be completed within 30 days of hire and renewed as required by law.
2. Age Verification
-
Alcohol will only be sold or served to guests age 21 or older.
-
Acceptable forms of identification include: a valid U.S. driver’s license, U.S. state-issued ID card, U.S. passport, or U.S. military ID.
-
All IDs must be checked if the guest appears under the age of 30.
3. Service to Intoxicated Persons
-
It is illegal to serve alcohol to anyone who is obviously intoxicated.
-
Staff must politely refuse service to any guest showing signs of intoxication and offer non-alcoholic alternatives or assistance in arranging safe transportation.
4. Drink Limits and Monitoring
-
Staff should monitor alcohol consumption and pace service responsibly.
-
Large-volume or “rapid consumption” promotions (e.g., drinking contests, “all-you-can-drink” offers) are prohibited.
5. Safe Environment and Guest Conduct
-
Management reserves the right to refuse service or remove from the premises any guest who is disruptive, threatening, or unsafe to themselves or others.
-
Staff are encouraged to immediately inform management if they encounter any concerning behavior.
6. Compliance and Enforcement
-
All employees and staff are expected to comply with this policy and applicable California laws at all times. Renters are expected to comply with Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.
-
Violations of this policy may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
